Both these “fajãs” are lava deltas located on the north coast and formed by basaltic lava flows emitted from the central volcanic ridge. The “Fajã do Ouvidor” was formed about 2,530 years, from “Pico do Areeiro”, and its shoreline presents prismatic jointing, lava arches and natural swimming pools.
